About Me

Taariq, photographer behind Quiet Light

I’m a photographer based in South Africa, exploring the relationship between light, mood, quiet moments, and honest colours.

I’m drawn to the quiet rituals and small stories that unfold in the stillness of early mornings or blue-hour evenings — when the streets are calmer, the light is softer, and the pace of things feels more human.

My work blends influences from street photography, minimalism, and my love for nature. I enjoy those in-between places: the soft transition where daylight fades, lanterns and reflections take over, and people move through the world with a calm that feels almost cinematic.

At home in Cape Town, I spend a lot of time walking beaches, exploring the coastline, and photographing my grandson — a way to keep the work grounded in something personal and honest.

This site is a small collection of moments that stayed with me. I hope, in some quiet way, they stay with you too.

Let's Work Together

I'm available for commissioned work, collaborations, and personal projects. If my photographs resonate with you, I'd love to hear from you.
